I have owned one of these for years. Had two of them and used them at the same time forever. I loved them and said I wouldn't buy anything different. Had to buy one a year ago, received it, wasn't made well, sent it back for an exchange and still the same thing.

I was gifted my waffle maker 3-1 and love it. So after 4 years of use the plates have lasted without the chipping some folks have experienced. I wonder if it is because I wipe it with oil before and after use. Just a thought.

The grill surface is so smooth, easy to clean and its makes my fatijas delicious all toasty and the cheese melts piping hot and it get toasty just like resturants, which i keep my towels around its a easy clean up and the only thing, this grill gets hot, very hot until i started turnin it down once...

I think the quality of this Black and Decker Waffle Maker's manufacture has deteriorated in the last couple of years. This is a very poorly made appliance. It takes quite a while to heat, and the clips that hold the two grill plates in place are so cheap that they fall out.

Pros: Can be used for both waffles and sandwiches.

Cons: Cheaply constructed: grill plates fall out.

The clip part that held the plates in was so flimsy it would bend each use, and I had to beware of sizzling hot waffle plates falling each time I used it. Thought it would be easier to clean, but avoided using it for that reason. Recycled it after 4th use. Not worth burning myself with.

I recommend this convenient 3-in-1 Black & Decker to anyone looking for a reasonably priced and easy-to-clean waffle maker.

I bought this 3-in-1 Grill, Griddle, & Waffle Iron in 2000. I use it constantly for a wide array of kitchen needs. Besides using as grill, griddle, and waffle iron, I fry bacon in the waffle plate/heat setting, which prevents splatter and mess.

You get what you pay for. You would think before a company sells something, someone in QC would actually use it. The tabs to release the cooking plates is located in the wrong place. When you raise the lid you will accidentally hit the tab and release the plate as the tab is right below the handle.

Not fancy but a great appliance. Couldn't be happier.
