This is the story about a little Puerto Rican tree frog named Coquí from the island of Borikén and the day he hears a loud frightening noise.
He sets out to investigate and along his way he meets up with his friend Pedrito, a Puerto Rican Tody.
Together they visit their friend Torra, the Puerto Rican Parrot, and Torra shares with them information about the Zemí / Cemí (The Taino Gods): Atabey, Guabancex, Yukiyú, Guataubá, and Coatrisquie.
She also shares with them how to identify the warning signs of a potential approaching storm or a mighty hurricane.
Included in the book is additional information on each of the featured endemic animals, as well as information about the island of Borikén and its history.
Summary: Coqui the frog and his bird friends fear the arrival of a Hurricane to their home in Puerto Rico and gather together to respond and prepare in ways that highlight the rich culture and customs of Boriken. Includes appendix of terminology.

Osuba, Rafael a.
Osuba (Puerto Rican) cultural producer, visual artist, narrator, defender of the arts, author, editor, mentor and self-proclaimed Quixote, has been an artist as long as he can remember. He says "Art is all around us; it is up to us to see its beauty". Art is the vehicle he uses to stay connected to his culture. "Every person, drawing, painting, sculpture, song, dance, food and literary work has a story behind it, capturing a feeling, a memory or expression and sharing it with the world is where the magic lies". In 2016, he launched Artist Studio Project Publishing LLC, with the main purpose of helping new Latino and writers of color publish their works. This is Osuba's third children's book. He was inspired to write this story back in 2017 after hurricane Maria hit the island of Puerto Rico. A hurricane that affected greatly his parents, friends and his family.He is the founder and Director of the El Quixote Festival (2015), an annual seven month long statewide collaborative festival that commemorates the writer and Spanish literary giant Miguel De Cervantes Saavedra and 400 years of "Don Quixote" two books that changed his life.
